I am white and have a black 11 year old daughter. I have not as yet found a hair salon that remotely measures up to the salons for white people.
Why is it that in a black salon you cannot phone and book an appointment with the hairdresser of your choice. Secondly my daughter is treated more like they are doing her a favour doing her hair and not in the same polite and friendly way I am accustomed to, even been offerred a cup of tea. I believe that I go to the top Black Like Me hair salon in PE which is situated in Greenacres, but maybe there are other which operate more on the lines of the white salons (eg not paying your money up front, and then sitting with a whole bunch of people waiting for the next available hairdresser, whoever it might be.) Is this just another cultural thing or just sloppy
