Friday 8 April 2011 Port Elizabeths very first Iron Girl South Africa Fun Run takes place from Hobie Beach. Entries to this exciting new event are now open.
Girl power, female intuition, feminine wiles and not to mention beauty will be abundant in Summerstrand as the enthusiastic ladies take to the road in this 10km fun run. Iron Girl is a race that promotes health and fitness while having tons of fun at the same time.
Entry fee is only R100 and each entrant will receive a free Iron Girl T-Shirt. Women from the age of 14 can enter either as individuals or as part of a mother – daughter team. Each team member runs individually and their times will be combined.

The weekend-long festival of cycling kicks off with the mountain bike challenge in Addo on the Saturday followed by the road events in Port Elizabeth on the Sunday. The 105km Classic, which starts and finishes at Hobie Beach is known for its scenic coastal route around the “wild side” of the city. The supporting road events for the Classic will be the 70km Pursuit and 40km Challenge.
