Port Elizabeth Man an Acknowledged Expert on Cape Town

Business News from PEwww.MyPE.co.za: Dax Villanueva left Port Elizabeth for Cape Town 10 years ago.

After falling in love with Cape Town he couldn't imagine living anywhere else and now makes his business of experiencing Cape Town and all it has to offer, his business.

HUH?

Dax writes a popular blog, Relax With Dax, highlighting the cool things happening in Cape Town, reviewing restaurants and wine farms.

A new venture for Dax has been to review hotels - the first of which was the One & Only.

During the FIFA World Cup Dax was appointed the official online blogger for the V&A Waterfront.
(Eds Note: I like to think that I had a little hand in that appointment as I had long discussions with one of the V&A execs about the power of blogging at the end of last year).

Dax reckons that his favourite restaurants of the moment are Rust en Vrede in Stellenbosch with Nobu coming a close second.

His latest triumph was to be featured in the Weekend Argus newspaper - fulfilling the secret desire of all journalists who wish to become celebrities and be featured in mainstream media.

Just goes to show that an all round good Port Elizabeth grounding sets you up for greater things elsewhere.

Visit Relax with Dax (Tell Dax that MyPE sent you and wish him all the best from us!).

Being a blogger in PE doesn't seem to get one anywhere though. I have two blogs, Port Elizabeth Daily Photo featuring PE and surrounds exclusively while The Firefly Photo Files is all about travel, nature and this beautiful country we live in. I get lots of requests by exPE folk who would like to see stuff that are part of their good memories of the city, but never have I had anybody ask me to do a pic and perhaps a review on a restaurant, hotel or guesthouse. Perhaps I should start doing it more out of my own so that I can be noticed more. The things we all do for this beautiful city we live in.

I feel for you Firefly when I look at the visitors that MyCapeTown is getting in comparison to MyPE and factor in the fact that I spend the bulk of my day on MyPE.

Makes me wanna move to Cape Town .............
