GSFA: Group Sex For Amoebas

New Aquatics Centre for Herbert Hurd

Education News from PEwww.MyPE.co.za: The Herbert Hurd Primary School recently held the opening of their new Aquatics Centre. Past Governing Body Chairman Mr Eddie Westraadt unveiled the plaque at the schools championship gala. The evening was kicked off by Ms Alet van den Berg's band which played many "water related" numbers like Yellow Submarine, Yellow Polka Dot Bikini and a very stirring version of Pirates of the Caribbean. The swimmers entered the centre marching to When the Saints played by the band. After the school song was sung, the kids got down to the business end of the evening, the different swimming events.

Herbert Hurd Swimming PoolThe Championship Gala is designed for the top swimmers in each age group of the school to compete against each other for bragging rights as the fastest swimmer in the grade!

Half way through proceedings, Mr Glenn Harris thanked the past and present governing body for giving so much of their time and effort to this amazing task. Mr Harris also thanked Mr LeMude, the architect who designed the centre, for all his efforts in getting the project off the ground. Mr Westraadt unveiled the plaque and the rest of the gala was concluded thereafter.

Through the evening a total of 25 of the schools records were broken. There were 46 events in total. The record breakers are: Kelleigh Nelson (3), Jessica Canter (4), Keagan Singh (2) James Beale, Bradley Eberhart (2), Calvin Oliver (3), Jason Lee, Warren Fourie-Slater, Cameron Venter, Hannah Haswell (3) and Dylan Smith.

I'm sure that Herbert Hurd swimming,  with the aid of PEA swimming coach Mark Edge, will be reaching new heights.
