www.MyPE.co.za: Much to the joy of some and disappointment of others the "Drie Pienkies en 'n Brein" Potjiekos team did not serve up a traditional offal potjie or "Smiley wiff brains" at the recent Potjiekos competition held at The Boardwalk on Sunday 25 October 2009.

According to my spy, Edward, Alice Labuschagne, Marazin Pio, Runette Botha and Deon Jansen van Rensburg (The Brain) served a more mainstream dish.

The eventual winners out of a fit and highly motivated field of 47 competitors, all cooking up a storm in trying windy and rainy conditions were:

The South African Restaurant with a Warthog Potjie.
Madiba's Pot with an Oxtail and Dumplings Potjie.
Afrimat Quarries / Lapa Cooking with a Crocodile Potjie

The Longhair and I, along with our assorted dwarves are already in training for next year's event as we sample more epicurean delights and plan a trip to the home of the Offal Potjie - Cradock.
