Can You Help Shaun Find his Black Labrador?

Community Projects and Issueswww.MyPE.co.za: Port Elizabeth's multiple Production Car Champion Shaun Watson-Smith and his wife Kerrin were rocked on the weekend by the suspected theft of their black male Labrador puppy, Jack, from their home in Kamma Ridge while they were in Johannesburg where Shaun was contesting the 5th round of this year's championship.

As always when they are away racing, a house-sitter was employed to take care of the couple's four cats and two dogs, including the latest addition to the family three and a half month old Jack. It is suspected that Jack managed to sneak onto the verge of the property while in the front garden for a toilet break on Friday evening at around 6pm, where an eye-witness arriving at the Watson-Smith's home for a visit reports seeing a lady loading him into a white/cream Mercedes with a registration number ending in FS (Free State) and driving off.

Black Labrador, Jack"Initially we had hoped that this person would hand him over to the Animal Welfare or Save a Pet who would then have contacted us as he has an identification chip fitted under his skin, but it seems clear that this person has decided to keep him", says the couple, "so we are appealing to anyone who may know his whereabouts to get into contact with us immediately".

They noted that black Labradors are much more difficult to come by than the golden variety, and that Jack at three and a half months old is now a lot bigger than the average 6 to 8 week old puppy, so are appealing to anyone who has noted the arrival of such a puppy at someone's home over the weekend to contact the couple so that his identity can be verified. "Like so many people, our animals are our children so this is extremely traumatic and we would also ask whoever has him to please do the right thing and return him to his family".

A large cash reward is being offered for information leading to his safe return. If anyone has any information at all, please contact Shaun on 0824494940 or Kerrin on 0729592683.
