2. 26 May 2008: A Day Trip to the Seaview Game Park Seaview Game and Lion Park is a old family favorite in Port Elizabeth. Although they do have free roaming giraffe, wildebeest and antelope, the main attraction stays the lions. Seaview has a breeding project for the white lion, so visitors can see both "normal" as well as the white lions. In addition to the lions, they also have an enclosure with three tigers. When the park has cubs, visitors can interact with these cubs and get some unforgattable moments and photos. Seaview Game Park is about to expand their game area.

4. 28 May 2008 ADDO ELEPHANT PARK
Addo is the first Big 7 game reserve in the world and is situated less than an hours drive from Port Elizabeth. The main rest camp is 72 km from the city, while the new entrance at Colchester is only about 35 km away. The park has over 450 elephants and is probably your best chance anywhere to have elephants pass your car within arm's length away. There is also chance to see buffalo, lion, zebra, warthog, various antelope species as well as many other smaller mammals and reptiles. Open vehicle drives can be booked through the park. Tel: 042 233 8600
Note from Firefly: Seekoei send me some information regarding booking accommodation at Addo. Accommodation can not be booked through the park, they have to be booked through the central reservations office, or MUCH EASIER, through the reservation office in Port Elizabeth.

9: 1 June 2008. Red Location Museum - Has any of the forum members been to Red Location Museum?
The museum represents the history of the townships in and around Port Elizabeth, the stories of the struggle against Apartheid and the people involved in it. Inside visitors will find a series of "memory boxes" as well as exhibits of photographs and memorabelia. There is also a great, and affordable, restaurant serving traditional meals.

12. 4 June 2008: A trip on the Apple Express
One of the last surviving narrow gauge steam trains in South Africa, it runs on the historic line from Humewood Station to Thornhill Village on a regular basis. On the way it crosses the Van Stadens River Bridge, the highest narrow gauge bridge in the world. Plans are afoot to have the train run up to Kareedouw in the Langkloof in the near future for overnight trips and on the long run they would like to resurrect the whole line to Avontuur.

13. 5 June 2008: Scuba Dive in and around Algoa Bay
Port Elizabeth has some excellent dive spots both inside Algoa Bay as well as on the Wildside. Reefs are teaming with fish, soft coral and a variety of marine life. Pinnacles and dropoffs as well as a number of ship wrecks makes diving here very exciting. During the yearly sardine run, the area around Algoa Bay is also ideal to spot baitballs and lots of activity and attracts film crews from all over the world.
